So Christmas is over, which means my enjoyment of winter is also coming to a close. I love snow, but I get tired of ugly, bitter cold with nothing good on the horizon (not to be too bleak). However, the good thing about winter that doesn't go away after the new year is getting to enjoy warm foods and beverages.
I'm a coco-lover and enjoy a good soup to warm up my constantly freezing fingers and toes after a day of doing absolutely nothing that should logically cause me to be so cold.
So if you're like me and need somewhere to warm up this winter, choose Tamashi Ramen in Orem.
Ramen has definitely hit a boom in recent years, and Asa Ramen seems to be the top place to go to enjoy ramen. But having been to both restaurants, I'd say Tamashi Ramen is the place to go. There's just something about the flavor of the ramen that you don't get at Asa. Plus, Asa Ramen is so tiny that you're probably going to have a long wait and then feel super cramped once you are seated. Tamashi is more spacious, and since it's newer, it's less crowded (for now).
The menu is pretty standard for a ramen joint: multiple types of ramen; appetizers like sesame balls, cream cheese wontons, spring rolls, gyoza, and rock shrimp; sushi; rice bowls; and a few other entrees, but in my opinion, you don't need to waste your time on the other entrees. The ramen and appetizers are where it's at. Plus they give you A LOT in both the ramen bowls and appetizers, so you're sure to leave with a full belly.
As an added bonus, it's part of a mall, which means you have ample parking options, which is pretty hard to come by in Provo and Orem.
So get out there and enjoy some delicious ramen and appetizers, and let me know about other cold-weather places with warm food and beverages that will take the edge off this winter chill.
